Email Validation in Megalytic

Megalytic takes a number of steps to ensure that our platform is not used to send spam. For example, our users can send scheduled reports to their clients and colleagues.

The email addresses that you enter for the scheduled reports must be validated by Megalytic to ensure that they are legitimate and deliverable.


If you enter an email and it is rejected, you will be given one of the following reasons:

  • Email account invalid – Not an active email address that can receive mail.
  • Email domain invalid – The domain is not set up to receive emails.
  • Email address belongs to a role address – Role-based email addresses (like admin@, help@, sales@) are email addresses that are not associated with a particular person, but rather with a company, department, position or group of recipients. Because these types of addresses are associated with high bounce rates and spam complaints, Megalytic does not allow them to be used for scheduled reports, client accounts, or user accounts.

We enforce these validation rules on email addresses used for Megalytic user accounts and client accounts as well. In addition to validation, all user and client emails are opt-in. Before a new user or client account is turned on, it must be activated by the user or client receiving an email and clicking on a link to verify that they want their email used with Megalytic.
